The taste of autumn? How about an apple sauce snack? You can easily make this at home, and it tastes amazing on its own, in a porridge or with some biscuits.

  • 6 apples
  • 150 ml water
  • 50 g cane sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 cloves

Instructions

  1. First, prepare the apples. Peel and pit them, and then chop them into small pieces.

  2. Add the chopped apples to a big saucepan and add the water. Cook it over medium heat.

  3. Once boiling, lower the heat and let it simmer, covered, until tender. It should take about 15 to 20 minutes. Mix occasionally, to prevent burning.
  4. Once tender, add sugar, cinnamon and cloves. Mix well.

  5. Lower the heat more and continue to simmer for 5‑10 minutes, so the sugar dissolves, and the flavours can mix.

  6. Take it off the heat and leave it to cool. You can serve it hot or cold.
