What is Granola?
Everyone knows the classic muesli - a mixture of oatmeal with dried fruit, nuts, seeds and chocolate, usually with a variety of sweeteners. From there, it's just a small step to granola - mixing it with fat, which gives the granola a higher calorie value than muesli, and baking the whole mixture. It is the baking that gives the mixture its golden colour and produces large, crunchy pieces.
How to know a good quality granola?
As with other foods, the shorter the formula, the better the quality of the granola. However, there is no need to unnecessarily exclude granola that has a lot of ingredients. It is important that it does not contain already processed foods, palm or coconut oil.
Quality granola is made with fresh ingredients. That's what we make with our Vilgain Granola whose fat comes mainly from the nuts it contains. The granola is also gluten‑free and suitable for celiacs or those with gluten allergies.
