Noodle Dishes

Noodles are a typical ingredient in Asian cuisine, and you can choose from many types—whether based on taste or dietary restrictions. The most well-known are classic wheat noodles, which form the basis of “fried noodles” that almost everyone has enjoyed at some point. Alternatives include udon and ramen noodles, which are also made from a wheat base. Udon noodles are significantly wider and have a cylindrical shape, while ramen noodles are thinner and smooth.

Another large group is rice noodles, which are also available in various forms. Their advantage is that they are naturally gluten-free and are ready in no time—glass noodles often just need to be poured over with boiling water. Flat rice noodles are great for the well-known Pad Thai, while the round ones are ideal for summer rolls or as a gluten-free alternative to fried noodles.
