Have you ever actually looked at the table of a muesli or granola that is usually displayed in the "healthy" section of the supermarket? If you did, you would know they are not as healthy as we think. Most of them contain a lot of refined sugars, fats and additives.

Let's make a homemade granola instead. It doesn't take long, and you are in full control of the ingredients. You can add extra protein, as we did.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 °C.

  2. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients except the whites.

  3. Whip the whites into stiff peaks and carefully add them to the rest of the ingredients.

  4. Transfer the mixture into a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for 30 minutes until golden. Mix a couple of times during baking so it's evenly baked.
