Chicory Syrup – natural sweetener with fibre and no added sugar

Sweeten your food and drinks naturally

Chicory root syrup is an exception in many ways compared to other syrups. It is made using a gentle method from chicory root and has a pleasantly sweet taste and thick consistency.

  • Suitable for everyday sweetening and for reduction diets

  • Contains no added preservatives or colouring agents

Syrup (almost) sugar‑free?
Exactly ✔️

Chicory root syrup contains only 6% sugar, a high proportion of fibre and a low glycaemic index - so it won't cause a blood sugar spike like regular sucrose.

  • Only 162 kcal per 100 g

  • Also suitable for people monitoring their sugar intake

  • Low glycaemic index (GI < 5)

69% fibre for normal digestion

High fibre (inulin) content benefits the digestive system. Inulin is not absorbed in the small intestine, but travels to the large intestine, where it serves as food for beneficial bacteria. A daily intake of at least 12 g of chicory inulin can contribute to normal bowel function by increasing stool frequency.

Gentle, High‑Quality Production

Using enzymatic hydrolysis instead of traditional roasting ensures a consistently smooth texture and premium quality.

  • 1. Enzymatic cleavage of inulin to fructose and glucose

  • 2. Filtration and concentration for thick syrup consistency

You won't find a more functional and versatile sweetener

Thanks to its sweet taste and excellent nutritional values, chicory syrup is an absolutely phenomenal sweetener for every kitchen. Add it to your morning coffee, or use it in baked treats, sauces, or anywhere else you like.

The consistency suits me, a good alternative to sweeteners and increases the intake of soluble fiber.

Questions

I try to follow an organic diet, is your chicory syrup organic? If not, would you consider introducing an organic version in future? Thank you.
Does it have any after taste?
Do the syrups have a "use by" date once they've been opened, for instance something like "once opened use within a month"? Or are there any guidelines on this? I'd likely only use smaller amounts so might need months to finish a bottle.
