Comments

Nothing beats an honest classic dish! Meatballs with tomato sauce will immediately transport you to your childhood and lift your mood. We made this version the way we like the most – with a strong beef broth, peeled tomatoes and delicious seasoning. We are serving it with golden brown turkey meatballs and lentil pasta that soak up the thick sauce beautifully. A perfect lunch that will be gone before you can blink.

Instructions

  1. Meatballs:

Chop the onion finely and mix all the meatball ingredients in a bowl. Form balls and transfer them onto a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C for 20 to 25 minutes.

  2. Sauce:

Chop the onion finely. Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the onion. Add flour and stir for a bit so you have a paste. Pour in the stock and mix thoroughly to avoid lumps. Add peeled tomatoes from a can, tomato pasta, bay leaves and allspice. Let it cook over low heat for 20‑30 minutes, so the flavours can combine. Then blend until smooth. To finish, season with salt, pepper and sugar.

  3. Cook the pasta.

  4. Once everything is ready, you can serve. Enjoy!
