Bean recipes

Beans contain mainly complex carbohydrates and plant protein, which, due to their incomplete spectrum of essential amino acids, are ideally combined with cereal protein. In addition, you will also find fiber, B vitamins, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium in them. Moreover, they are an inexpensive and highly filling ingredient you can rely on even before payday.

Thanks to their oligosaccharide content, beans can cause bloating and flatulence – but this can be significantly reduced by soaking them longer and preparing them properly. You can also choose canned beans, which are already pre‑cooked, and the risk is much lower here. However, pay particular attention to the salt content; ideally, drain and rinse such beans with clean water before adding them to your meal.

You can use beans in various salads and Mexican dishes, but also soups or even brownies.
