- 60 ml milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 180 °C.

In a small pan, melt 50g of butter and add 50g of sugar. Simmer it until the sauce starts to turn golden and turns into caramel. Pour the caramel into the bottom of a cake tin. Add quartered pears to the caramel base.

In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.

In a separate bowl, whip the remaining butter and sugar until fluffy. Gradually add the egg and the vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. At the same time, add milk too, until the batter is smooth. Pour it over the pears in the cake tin.
-
Bake it in a pre‑heated oven for 35‑40 minutes. To test whether it's ready, insert a toothpick or a skewer. It should come out clean.
-
Remove from the oven and leave it to cool slightly before turning it upside down.
