We didn't feel like baking in this heat, so we opted for a retro dessert from our childhood. To make it lighter, we used quark, used up the last of the season's strawberries and voila – you have a yummy, cold dessert.

Instructions

  1. Make the cream. We had help from a store‑bought powder, which made the cream thicker and sweeter and gave it flavour. But if you don't want to use a powder, you can use custard and some sweetener you like instead.

  2. Spread a thin layer of cream on tin foil. Only use a little, so the biscuits don't slide.

  3. Place the biscuits over the cream, in three rows. Top them with another layer of the cream and a second layer of biscuits.

  4. Add another layer of cream, this time a larger amount. Place small pieces of strawberries in the middle.

  5. Carefully lift the longer edges and fold them to create a triangle. The cream should spread evenly. Wrap it in foil and leave it in the fridge to rest for 3‑4 hours.

  6. To finish, melt the chocolate with a spoonful of butter. Spread the chocolate coating over the top of the dessert and cover in coconut. Enjoy!
