Greek-style salad with Balkan cheese

Salad similar to the Greek one is a strong favourite in the Balkan countries, especially in Bulgaria and Serbia. It's also won many hearts in the Czech Republic. And it's no surprise - this fresh and delicious salad is especially great in summer, when the main ingredients - tomatoes and cucumbers - are extra fresh and juicy. Let's try it!

  • 4 tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 pepper bell
  • 150 g Feta cheese
  • 50 g black olives
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • parsley

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop tomatoes, cucumber and pepper into mid‑size chunks. Peel and finely slice the red onion. Drain and destone the olives, if needed.

  2. Mix all the chopped ingredients in a bowl. Add olive oil, salt and pepper and mix carefully. Roughly grate the Balkan cheese over the top.

  3. To finish, sprinkle some chopped parsley over the top. Enjoy!
