Ingredients
- 10 chicken drumsticks
- olive oil
- 2 tsp sweet paprika
- 1/2 tsp chilli
- 1 tsp garlic granules
- 1 tsp onion granules
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 200 ml ketchup
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 10 g cane sugar
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- pinch chilli
- pinch pepper
- pinch salt
- 1 tsp garlic granules
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
-
Wash the drumsticks and rub them with olive oil.
-
In a small bowl, mix all the seasoning for the meat coating.
-
Coat the meat in the seasoning mixture thoroughly.
-
Transfer the coated drumsticks into a baking tray and add a splash of water.
-
Roast in the oven preheated to 180 °C for 40 minutes. You can also barbecue them or make them in the air fryer.
👉🏻 HOW TO BARBECUE THE DRUMSTICKS?
Start the barbecue on a medium heat (about 180–200 °C). Place the drumsticks on the rack and barbecue for 30‑35 minutes. Rotate them during the grilling to ensure they are cooked equally on all sides. When there are about 10 minutes left, brush the drumsticks with the BBQ sauce (see the recipe below), and let it caramelise.
👉🏻 HOW TO MAKE THE DRUMSTICKS IN AN AIR FRYER
Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C and set it to 20 minutes. After ten minutes of frying, turn the drumsticks around. Brush the drumsticks with the BBQ sauce and return them to the airfryer for an extra 5‑7 minutes, raising the temperature to 190‑200 °C, so the sauce gets sticky and caramelises.
-
Whilst the drumsticks are in the oven, prepare the BBQ sauce.
-
Pour the Vilgain ketchup into a saucepan. Add the maple syrup, cane sugar, apple vinegar, cinnamon and seasoning. Mix well.
-
Place the saucepan on the heat and cook for 5 minutes.
-
After 30 minutes, take the meat out of the oven (or the barbecue/air fryer) and brush it with a little bit of the BBQ sauce.
-
Brush the cooked meat with the leftover BBQ sauce right before serving.
-
Sprinkle the drumsticks with fresh herbs and serve them with grilled veggies, potatoes or just on their own.
-
Enjoy!
