The plum season is on! And if your pantry is already full of plum jam, how about something else? Like mixing plums with some chocolate to make a healthier and fresher version of Nutella?

Instructions

  1. Wash the plums thoroughly, then stone them and cut them into smaller pieces.

  2. In a small saucepan, bring the plums to a boil together with some sugar. Simmer on a medium heat until the plums are tender and start to fall apart, releasing liquid. 

  3. Pour the plum mixture into a blender and mix until smooth. 

  4. Melt some high‑quality dark chocolate (we used 80% cocoa) in a water bath.

  5. Add the melted chocolate to the plum mixture. Add cocoa, almond milk, salt and vanilla extract, and mix well until you have a smooth and creamy paste.

  6. Pour the plum Nutella into glass jars with a lid and leave it to cool and firm up in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving. 

    Store it in a fridge and use it within a week.

  7. You can serve it on toasted bread, in a porridge or yoghurt, or use it as a cake icing. Enjoy!
