Vilgain White quinoa - gluten‑free side dish with high fibre content
Vilgain Quinoa white or Merlik chile is a gluten‑free pseudo cereal with a slightly sweet taste. It tastes great both salty and sweet. It is beige in colour and slightly softer than red quinoa.
High in fibre and a source of protein
It is easy to digest and has a low glycaemic index, so it will keep you full for longer. It also contains a decent portion of protein with all the essential amino acids, which are among the highest quality of plant sources. This is confirmed by NASA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, who took quinoa into space in 2015 as a nutritionally high value food.
Ideal as a side dish and main meal
Quinoa is ideal for soups, sauces, porridges, salads, side dishes or main meals. It can be well combined with sweet and savoury dishes.

Instructions for use
- Bring water to a boil and add rinsed quinoa in a 2:1 ratio.
- Reduce heat to low and cook for 14 - 18 minutes until most of the water is absorbed.
