Vilgain Organic Quinoa White or Merlik chile is a gluten‑free pseudo cereal with a slightly sweet taste. It tastes great both salty and sweet. It is beige in colour and slightly softer than red quinoa.
It is easy to digest and has a low glycaemic index, so it will keep you full for longer. It also contains a decent portion of protein with all the essential amino acids, which are among the best quality of plant sources. This is confirmed by NASA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, who took quinoa into space in 2015 as a nutritionally valuable food.
Quinoa is ideal for soups, sauces, porridges, salads, side dishes or main meals. It can be well combined with sweet and savoury dishes.
