Earl Grey BIO black tea is a traditional English tea that is one of the most famous and popular flavoured teas in the world. The base consists of high quality black tea flavoured with natural bergamot oil from citrus fruits. It has a strong and robust flavour that is suitable for a morning pick‑me‑up.

Originating from the "land of a thousand hills"

The tea leaves come from the mountainous provinces of Rwanda, rich in volcanic soil and a cooler tropical climate that slows growth and intensifies flavour and aroma. For maximum quality, the leaves are harvested using the two leaves and a bud - two youngest leaves and a bud. After harvesting, they are allowed to wilt, then rolled, oxidised and dried. They are then enriched with natural bergamot oil.

The high content of stimulating theine

Our Earl Grey boasts a high theine content, an intense, rich and fresh citrus flavour that can traditionally be mellowed with honey, milk or lemon. This tea is suitable for morning or mid‑morning sipping, or as a base for blended tea‑based drinks.

Intense flavour

Earl Grey black tea is recommended to be steeped for 1‑2 minutes to bring out its typical light citrus flavour. With longer steeping, the flavour becomes fuller, with a tendency to become progressively bitter. The tea should be drunk freshly prepared.
