Vilgain Freeze‑Dried Dragon Fruit – bring a touch of the exotic to your table with freeze‑dried dragon fruit

Vilgain Freeze‑Dried Dragon Fruit, also known as pitahaya, features a vibrant purple color and crunchy black seeds. It can enhance any sweet dish or dessert with both its flavor and a wealth of vitamins, which are preserved thanks to the freeze‑drying process.

Rapid freezing preserves aroma, flavor, and the content of vitamins and minerals

How does the freeze‑drying process actually work? Dragon fruit or other fruits (even vegetables) are exposed to extremely low freezing temperatures and then slowly dried in a vacuum, which completely removes the water. Through this process, the fruit regains its characteristic lightness and retains its color, aroma, and flavor. In addition, the fruit is packed with vitamins that are preserved as if it were fresh, since it is not affected by heat. Dragon fruit naturally contains high levels of vitamin C, B vitamins, and minerals such as magnesium and iron.

Perfect for enhancing porridges, yogurts, muesli, decorating desserts, or as a substitute for fresh fruit – freeze‑dried fruit can do it all

You can use freeze‑dried fruit anywhere you would use fresh fruit. Use it to decorate and flavor porridge, yogurt, muesli with milk, or smoothies. It is also very popular among pastry chefs, as it makes decorating desserts simple and effective. You can use the dragon fruit whole or crumble it between your fingers to create a fine powder thanks to the perfect drying. Freeze‑dried dragon fruit has another excellent property – once you soak it in water, it swells back up and regains its original size and texture, making it indistinguishable from classic fresh fruit.
