Osmolality, which indicates the concentration of dissolved substances in a solution, plays a key role in a drink’s ability to hydrate the body. Vilgain Pure Electrolytes, when mixed with water, have an osmolality of 210 mOsm/kg and a hypotonic character.
An osmolality of 210 mOsm/kg allows the drink to pass quickly into the intestine, where water absorption takes place. The higher sodium content corresponds to recommendations for rehydration after exercise - according to the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN).
