Vilgain Demi Glace – a delicate French base for a variety of meat, fish, and vegetable sauces

Demi glace is a rich, concentrated sauce used especially in French cuisine to naturally enhance the flavor of dishes. Professional chefs love it for its rich, intense, and unmistakable taste. It is an exceptionally good base for soups and sauces, for braising and deglazing, and serves as a universal ingredient to season any dish.

Try our ready‑to‑use Demi Glace, made according to a traditional recipe from local ingredients, and season your meal like in a Michelin‑starred restaurant. One package makes up to 8 liters of gourmet base.

Thick broth made only from local organic ingredients

...and only those that truly belong there. For 1 liter of finished product, at least 1,1 kg of beef and veal meat and bones from local farms in Belgium are used. It is simmered for 48–72 hours together with double‑concentrated tomato purée, butter, flour, vegetables, and herbs. That’s it. You won’t find any salt, flavor enhancers, or preservatives in the ingredients. Demi Glace is intentionally salt‑free, so you can season your final dish exactly to your taste. On its own, it may taste less pronounced, but in a finished dish it fully develops its rich umami and meaty flavor.

Slow‑cooked broth with extra intense flavor

Vilgain Demi Glace gives dishes a deeper and richer flavor and is highly popular among gourmets. It is rich in natural substances from bones, stock, and aromatic herbs, which can help improve the taste and nutritional value of meals. If you scoop Demi Glace straight from the fridge, it will have a thick, gelatinous consistency, while at higher temperatures it becomes more liquid. Thanks to its natural collagen content from the bones, it turns back into a firm jelly when cooled, which is a natural property of long‑simmered stock.

Good taste for soups and cooking

Hello, last week I received a package from you and I ordered this demiglace as well. I’m sorry, but for the first time ever, there’s something from you that I really don’t like, and unfortunately, this is a disappointment. I can’t taste any flavor, richness, or anything resembling a broth. Is it possible to arrange a refund or an exchange for other products of the same value? Thank you, Pospíšilová

This is really not gemi glace, I can't imagine diluting this broth any further. It's a thin broth, it doesn't even have a gelatinous consistency and the taste is very bland.

Hello, for us too it was just colored water without any taste. Very disappointing. I wouldn't buy it again next time!
