Brazil Nuts – sweet, slightly bitter nuts, variety with the second largest kernel size, source of unsaturated fats

Vilgain Brazil Nuts Natural – royally large nuts with a sweet flavor from the tropical Amazon

The Brazil nut is one of the most valuable products of Brazil and other regions of South America. It is also known as the Brazil nut and is characterized by a sweet flavor with a pleasantly mild bitterness.

Unlike regular supermarkets, where you’ll most often find only kernels labeled as “midgets” (the second smallest kernels on the market), ours are actually the second largest, with about 242–286 kernels per 1 kg.

An excellent source of healthy fats, protein, fiber, and selenium

Like all nuts, Brazil nuts are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, which help maintain normal cholesterol levels. They contain up to 20% protein and 8% fiber. Important micronutrients include copper, phosphorus, vitamin E, zinc, and magnesium, which are among the most essential elements in our bodies.

Selenium is also a very important mineral: 1 nut contains 170% of the recommended daily intake of selenium. Selenium is essential for thyroid function, the immune system, and the protection of brain cells. Selenium in high amounts can cause digestive issues, so you should avoid eating too many nuts at once. 3–4 nuts per day are sufficient.

What are Brazil nuts good for?

You can snack on them raw and unprocessed. They’re great in vegetable salads, desserts, morning porridge, or yogurt, for example with other nuts and fresh or freeze‑dried fruit. You’ll also very often find them among the ingredients of various bars or muesli.
