Mackerel has a more delicate and tender texture compared to tuna, while still offering a full‑bodied flavour and intense aroma. Along with its smoky undertones, it may also remind you slightly of smoked mackerel from the shop.

An ocean gem packed with nutrients
Mackerel is a natural source of omega‑3 fatty acids and high‑quality protein, providing 22 g per 100g of meat. It also supplies important micronutrients such as potassium, vitamin A, selenium, and copper. Most notably, it’s incredibly rich in vitamin B12, offering over 600 % of the reference intake value.
Sustainable fishing
Mackerel are caught using sustainable fishing methods, which include purse seines, nets or hook and line. This is also why our mackerel are MSC certified.
Hand processing
After being caught, the mackerel are sent to the coastal region of La Rioja, where they are processed using traditional artisanal techniques by a local business with years of experience.
